This autumn we are presenting two special painting courses around Rembrandt en Jan Steen featuring the newly weds Marten Soolmans, Oopjen Coppit and a unknown lady in a boudoir.
Special painting course on MARTEN & OOPJEN
In 1634 Rembrandt painted the marriage portraits of Marten Soolmans en Oopjen Coppit. These unique full length counterparts have finally returned to the town where they were created, on a special display in the Rijksmuseum until October this year. A good opportunity for a step-by-step study in our coming course 17th CENTURY PAINTING TECHNIQUES. The classes are accessible for both beginners as well as more experienced participants.

New museum-course in het Mauritshuis: PAINT YOUR OWN STEEN
From September 29th on a new Mauritshuis exhibition will be launched featuring 17th century master pieces from the ROYAL COLLECTION in London. One of the highlights will undoubtedly be the 1663 painting “Woman in a bedroom” by Jan Steen. This unique bedroom scene will the starting point to provide direct inspiration for new versions of this scene by the course participants. Step-by-step the illustrious example by Jan Steen will be followed while working from a live posing model in the Art Workshop of the museum. This very practical course is accessible for both beginners as well as the more experienced participants.
